The beautiful Under Armour SpeedForm Fortis is the last running shoes from the SpeedForm™ saga to reach the market after the fast Apollo and paced Gemini. Hard to categorize because the SpeedForm Fortis features a great blend of lightweight and cushioning, it sums up the experience from mentioned models to deliver the most succesful running experience.
Upper in the SpeedForm Fortis is an evolution of the one-piece construction already seen in the SpeedForm Gemini. Heel counter is now smaller and there are two (one at each side) adjustable straps to lock down heel for improved fit. Front side upper is now made of ArmourVent™ mesh to increase breathability and it includes several bending lines for better adaptability during toe-off stage. High standard comfort remains the same with sock-like fit and molded 6 mm 4D-Foam® footbed (non-removable insole).
One interesting change in the SpeedForm Fortis is that midsole layers have exchanged their position and amount from what was released in SpeedForm Gemini to increase responsiveness. Now Micro G® layer is thinner and located above the vast piece of more consistent CHARGED® foam with strategic flex grooves. Outsole has been definitely migrated to a more traditional design looking for more flexibility featuring smoother ride. More exposed areas are made of solid rubber to increase durability.
