The Saucony Kinvara 5 is no longer the minimalist shoe it used to be. Still light, with great cushioning and outstanding response (including 4 mm drop) but not minimal any more.
The upper features FlexFilm™ to lock in the fit on top of thicker layers and Pro-Lock® lacing system to embrace midfoot which definitely helps regarding durability and a more secure fit, but moves away from minimal construction from its predecessor the Kinvara 4.
Full length PowerGrid™ midsole delivers softer feel and outsole design changed a bit looking for better cushioning and abrasion resistance with EVA+ compound.
