Perhaps we would expect a more continuist version but it is clear that the Nike Pegasus Trail 3 has the bar high in terms of expectations. But do not take anything to the extreme because it is still a multipurpose shoe, ideal for running on trails and simple paths, avoiding more technical terrain if possible, and if possible, also wet ones. It is clear that the designers of the saga have got it right although the New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v6 shoe seems clear. Anyway it is surprising that versions with the well-known GORE-TEX® waterproof membrane are offered.
The upper concentrates most of the changes compared to the previous edition Pegasus Trail 2 which now offers a simpler look, what could perhaps be considered a more "conventional" design. It keeps both the concept of great ventilation and the prominent protection in the front and although it shares the large size of the mythical logo of the American brand with its sister for asphalt Air Zoom Pegasus 38 shoe, in this case the well-known Swoosh is not hollow but padded, small detail.
The rest of the Nike Pegasus Trail 3 is virtually identical to its predecessor with a midsole made entirely of React that maintains the configuration in carefully oriented lateral grooves that aid in smoother transition and more efficient cushioning. Contrary to what you might think due to the reviews received, the outsole also does not receive any updates that would improve grip on wet surfaces, so we will have to wait for the Oregon-based company to develop a rubber to match the rest of the shoe or partner with prestigious brands like Vibram® to make it happen. Let's go for a run.
