The New Balance 1260 v7 gets closer to become an alternative to top seller Asics Gel Kayano 24 within running shoes with pronation support and plush cushioning, a really interesting niche because of high price tags. Every new edition is nicer than previous one, moving away from outdated and horrible designs. In addition, the 1260 v7 features the new FuelCell foam and finally gets rid of T-Beam plastic shank in midfoot.
Upper is cleaner than its predecessor 1260 v6 and elements embracing midfoot for secure and snug fit have been moved under the external mesh plenty of holes to promote great ventilation. Asymmetrical heel counter features great stability and holds foot in its place while lateral logo and some eyelets are made of reflective material to increase visibility under poor light conditions.
Interesting changes take place in midsole with not full length FuelCell foam under reliable ABZORB foam for most comfortable ride. As mentioned above, in 1260 v7 T-Beam plastic shank has been removed from midfoot and progressive pronation support relies on impressive medial post. Outsole configuration has been changed as well with two big flex grooves and reengineered lug pattern to promote flexibility and therefore smoother ride. As usual, tougher blown rubber (Ndurance®) is used in more exposed areas for longer durability.
