The American brand with French origin is clear about what it wants to offer with the Hoka One One Rincon 3: a shoe with an apparently simple construction, very low weight and versatile. To many it will sound similar to what Saucony has achieved with the Kinvara 13 and that in this case can even be categorized as a smaller sister to the Clifton 8. In any case, a concept that seems to be successful in (almost) all the brands that work with it, let's see if what people like is running and shoes are a mere means to that end.
As a good update, there are a few changes from its predecessor Rincon 2 which of course more than one will question whether it justifies the mandatory price increase. The upper cut seems cleaner and the two-layer mesh combines the decoration with the ventilation holes to make them less obvious, leaving a quite modern and attractive set. What is striking is how the strap present in the living room has been simplified, which is now a simple thread that continues to fulfill both the function of removing/putting them on and transporting them, something that is undoubtedly attractive to all those who are passionate about triathlon.
The rest of the Rincon 3 is basically the same but with very slight changes that improve the dynamic behavior of the shoe. The impressive compressed EVA midsole continues with the famous Meta-Rocker configuration (and its 5mm drop) that undergoes changes in its geometry, the damping now being a tad less soft. Externally, this is reflected in a greater number of cuts on the sides that also present a smaller angle with the horizontal axis. The most notable thing about the sole is a greater presence of reinforcements of greater hardness and different colors in areas of greatest wear, increasing the useful life of the shoe. Let's go for a run.
